How Should I Utilize Pocket Prep?

The Pocket Prep EMT app is a mobile study tool designed to help students prepare for the NREMT® certification exam. It offers more than 1,650 EMT practice questions written by industry professionals and aligned with the latest NREMT exam outlines.

We provide you with a Pocket Prep subscription for the duration of your program. To gain access to your account, please email support@axoneducation.com with the subject line “Pocket Prep Access.” We will then send you instructions on how to activate your account and download the app.

You may come across assignments throughout your course that direct you to Pocket Prep to complete quizzes. To do so, follow these instructions:
  1. Open your Pocket Prep account.
  2. Go to the “Study” tab.
  3. Select “Build Your Own Quiz.”
  4. Choose the specific subject listed in your Canvas assignment.
  5. Decide whether you want to see answer explanations immediately after each question or at the end of the quiz.
  6. Choose your answer submission style (how you want to submit each answer).
  7. Make sure you include only “new questions.”
  8. Use the sliding scale to select the exact number of questions required by the Canvas assignment.
  9. Start and complete the quiz.
  10. Return to your Canvas assignment and answer the one required question to complete the quiz.
Each question will be accompanied by a detailed explanation to help you better understand the reasoning behind correct answers. Take advantage of this! It will help you learn the content of the material – not just memorize answers.

You can also explore the app and study on your own, not just as prompted in Canvas. The app includes a wide range of study modes—such as Question of the Day, Quick 10 quizzes, Missed Questions, Level Up, Weakest Subject, Timed quizzes, and full mock exams. Pocket Prep also provides performance tracking tools that show progress across subjects, compare scores with other learners, and help you focus on weaker areas over time.  Available on both the App Store and Google Play, the app supports EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, and other EMS-related exam prep, offering thousands of practice questions and expert-written content across versions.
