Is the influenza vaccination required?

Axon is a mandatory influenza vaccination school. As a condition of enrollment with Axon, all students are required to be vaccinated for influenza annually during CDC designated influenza season. Students that enroll between October 1st and May 31st of any year will be required to submit verification of the current season’s influenza vaccination as part of their enrollment process and compliance requirements. The institution will not consider admission for candidates who are unable or unwilling to obtain the required vaccination and no exemptions will be accepted for the required vaccination.

Flu vaccination will not be required as an enrollment/compliance requirement during non-flu season, as the seasonal vaccination is not readily available to receive at that time, but once the next flu season approaches, measures will be taken to collect the required vaccination information from enrolled students that did not previously submit the documentation during their enrollment process.

Axon will complete a formal audit before or on October 1st every year and complete necessary follow up processes to ensure that those students needing the influenza vaccination follow through and get it.

Influenza is considered current if obtained after August 1st of the current year or at any time in the previous 12 months, whichever is later. This ensures the student has received the seasonally appropriate vaccine.
